so here is an update on what I'm up to. I recently starting working on the houdini apprentice challenge. look for it at sidefx.com there are two clips to choose from. My choice was to do the building footage and do a hurricane/storm type of effect. I've seen it done in many disaster movies and frankly building destruction is quite common in many films.
ok, so at this point I find the footage and the tracking to be quite bad. Can I do a better track. hmm maybe, maybe not, i understand the tracking principles and everything but at least the camera looks decent enough to work with.
At this point I'm finalizing the roto of the building and hope to get a good matte for the background. Next Tuesday I want to have the roto done and start working on the cloud system in houdini.
PS: i've realised that there are 2 posts and both of them are in the weeee hours of the day. I dont know how bad this is to my health but I do know that I tend to work a lot better when its quiet and calm, while I listen to National Public radio.
